I am pleased to say my new Xelero X73011 men's hiking shoes (low cut) provide a better level of comfort and metatarsal support than any walking/hiking shoe I have owned. I am 66, male, and have struggled with a painful supination in my left foot my entire adult life due to nearly losing my left leg, mid-calf, in a glass door accident as a teenager. The supination resulted from reconstructed (now truncated) tendons along the top arch in my left foot. Gel insoles, orthotics worked for a long time; over decades loss of muscle tissue and the padding we all have in our foot soles -- caused by the supination -- -- has completely shifted the impact of my step from my heel to the edge of the left foot metatarsal pad, making walking very painful. The Xelero X73011's singular innovative metatarsal support offers much enlarged depth and cushioning that absorbs the impact of each step, almost rebounding the foot forward. In my life I have purchased -- and been disappointed by -- dozens of shoes offering cushioning and arch support. None with the type of metatarsal support I needed until I happened upon the X73011 in an online search. I appreciate the thought that went into the design of this shoe and I would recommend anyone with foot issues similar to mine to give them a try. You won't be sorry. Thank you.
